Job Summary
The Solution Principal leads solution strategy and architecture for complex, multi-domain initiatives spanning AI, data, cloud platforms, engineering modernization, AI-enabled applications, and autonomous operations. The role defines value discovery approaches, architectural standards, reference patterns, and non-functional requirements for scalable designs using OpenAI, hyperscaler and technology OEM ecosystems, and HCLTech products. The role ensures consistency, governance, responsible AI adoption, and measurable business outcomes across large pursuits and strategic customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and solution shaping for strategic pursuits, translating business priorities into AI-enabled transformation roadmaps and investment cases.
- Own solution architecture for complex, multi-domain initiatives and govern consistency across multiple teams, platforms, and solution workstreams.
- Define architectural standards and reusable patterns for integration, scalability, security, compliance, observability, model evaluation, and Responsible AI.
- Drive design authority in cross-team forums; resolve trade-offs across platforms, data, AI lifecycle, application architecture, workflows, and operations.
- Partner with engineering leadership to ensure reference architectures are adopted, delivery assumptions are realistic, and measurable outcomes are defined.
- Align solution roadmaps with OpenAI, hyperscaler/OEM capabilities, HCLTech product capabilities, and customer enterprise architecture principles.
- Lead POC, pilot, and prototype strategy, including evaluation criteria, success metrics, demo narratives, and transition paths to production.
- Mentor architects and solution teams while contributing to architectural governance, reusable blueprints, and documentation standards.
Skill Requirements
- Strong AI and LLM fundamentals, including embeddings, RAG, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, agentic workflows, model evaluation, AI safety, and enterprise guardrails.
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI or Azure OpenAI capabilities, OpenAI Codex or similar AI coding tools, and LLM-enabled workflow design.
- Ability to design AI-native and AI-augmented architectures across data, applications, cloud, integration, security, and operations domains.
- Experience defining Responsible AI controls, privacy requirements, content safety, observability, human-in-the-loop processes, and quality evaluation mechanisms.
- Ability to use AI tools to accelerate value discovery, architecture optioning, code/prototype generation, solution documentation, and executive storytelling.
Other Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, consulting, enterprise technology, data, cloud, applications, or platform modernization.
- Strong AI/LLM fundamentals and practical exposure to GenAI solution design.
- Strong value discovery, solution architecture design, estimation, and executive solutioning experience.
- Experience leading POCs, pilots, prototypes, architecture workshops, and solution governance forums.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to influence executive stakeholders.
- Technical leadership experience across multi-team or multi-domain engagements.
- Strong GenAI, OpenAI Codex, AI-assisted engineering, and workflow design experience.
