Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled NoSQL Database Engineer with strong expertise in Cassandra (DSE) and Couchbase to design, implement, and support scalable, high-performance database platforms. The role requires deep technical knowledge in distributed database architectures, data modeling, performance tuning, and multi-datacenter cluster management in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Cassandra (DSE) Responsibilities Design, build, administer, and support Cassandra (DSE) clusters and database environments. Manage and operate DSE Cassandra and DSE OpsCenter for monitoring and administration. Execute datacenter migrations and major version upgrades with minimal downtime. Develop and optimize NoSQL data models and schema structures for scalability and performance. Perform cluster management activities, including capacity planning and node optimization. Implement and manage multi-DC (datacenter) deployments and replication strategies. Perform routine maintenance activities such as: Repairs Snapshots Backup and restore operations Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues. Conduct performance tuning of the Cassandra data layer to ensure optimal throughput and latency. Ensure data security, encryption, backup, and disaster recovery mechanisms. Support database reliability through replication, failover, and high availability configurations. Couchbase Responsibilities Administer and maintain Couchbase clusters with multi-node and multi-service configurations. Configure and manage XDCR (Cross Data Center Replication) across multi-cluster environments. Perform backup and restore operations and ensure data integrity. Execute migration of buckets and datasets across clusters. Optimize and maintain Couchbase clusters and supporting infrastructure (OS level tuning). Monitor cluster performance and ensure high availability and operational stability. Operational & Support Responsibilities Own end-to-end database lifecycle management including planning, deployment, and optimization. Provide L2/L3 support for: Production incidents Performance issues Service degradation scenarios Ensure timely resolution of outages and SLA adherence in coordination with cross-functional teams. Participate in on-call support and incident management processes. Maintain high standards of system reliability, performance, and security compliance. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and design standards. Collaborate with application teams to support data architecture and performance improvements.

Skill Requirements

strong hands-on experience with: DSE Cassandra (including OpsCenter) Couchbase cluster management Proven expertise in: Distributed database architecture NoSQL data modeling and optimization Experience with: Multi-datacenter deployments (DR/HA) Cluster migration and upgrades Deep understanding of: Backup, recovery, replication strategies Security, encryption, and compliance controls Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills across data and infrastructure layers

Other Requirements

Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments Exposure to cloud or hybrid deployments Familiarity with monitoring tools and automation frameworks Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
