Job Summary
We are seeking an Commvault Administrator to manage and maintain our enterprise backup and recovery environment. The ideal candidate will ensure data protection, optimize backup performance, and support disaster recovery strategies across on-premises, cloud, and virtual infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Backup & Recovery Management:
Configure, monitor, and maintain Commvault backup and restore operations for physical, virtual, and cloud environments. - System Administration:
Install, upgrade, and patch Commvault software and related components. Manage storage policies, schedules, and retention rules. - Troubleshooting & Support:
Diagnose and resolve backup/restore issues, escalating to vendor support when necessary. Provide technical assistance to internal teams. - Security & Compliance:
Implement data protection policies and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of backup configurations and procedures. Generate and review backup reports to ensure SLA compliance. - Capacity Planning & Performance Tuning:
Monitor backup infrastructure capacity and optimize performance. - Disaster Recovery:
Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution. - Collaboration:
Work closely with system administrators, database teams, and application owners to define and implement backup strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Commvault administration and enterprise backup solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Commvault architecture and components.
- Experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) platforms.
- Familiarity with storage systems, networking basics, and data protection best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Commvault certification (e.g., Commvault Certified Professional).
- Experience in scripting for automation.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
