Job Summary

OSS Technician (On-Site Support) The OSS Technician provides both in-person and remote IT support for AMD employees, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, operating system, and account-related issues while delivering an excellent customer experience. This role supports day-to-day IT operations, employee onboarding, conference room technology, endpoint deployment, and engineering-specific support in a fast-paced enterprise environment. Primary Responsibilities • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for Windows and Linux through walk-up support, remote sessions, phone, and Microsoft Teams (Minimal MacOS Support). • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, VPN, authentication, printing, peripheral, and operating system issues. • Image, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops and workstations using SCCM, AutoPilot and enterprise deployment standards. • Prepare and configure workstations for new hires, including monitors, docking stations, peripherals, network connectivity, and required software. • Support onboarding activities by ensuring new employees receive fully functional equipment and access to required resources. • Troubleshoot Active Directory account issues, password resets, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), VPN connectivity, BIOS updates, driver installations, and endpoint configuration. • Assist engineering teams with Linux workstation and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) support, including CentOS and Red Hat environments. • Configure user access to network shares and organizational resources while following established security policies. • Maintain and troubleshoot conference room audiovisual systems to ensure reliable meeting experiences. • Participate in IT service events, endpoint health initiatives, and preventative maintenance activities, including device security checks and performance optimization. • Document troubleshooting steps, follow established IT procedures, and escalate complex issues to appropriate engineering or infrastructure teams. • Maintain high customer satisfaction while balancing service quality, response time, and company standards. Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
