The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the network infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure across the plant. • Support and monitor industrial networks connecting MES, SCADA, PLCs, and shop floor devices. • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues impacting production systems. • Ensure high availability and redundancy of network services to minimize downtime. • Manage network security, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems. • Perform network monitoring and performance tuning using monitoring tools. • Support network upgrades, expansions, and patching activities. • Collaborate with IT, production, and automation teams for integration of plant systems. • Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industrial standards.
Skill Requirements
Strong knowledge of: o Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN) o Routing & switching technologies • Familiarity with: o Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP) o Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG)
