Job Summary

The HAM – CMDB & Asset Management L2 Engineer is responsible for operational ownership, governance support, and quality assurance of IT assets and configuration items (CIs) across their lifecycle. The role ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of asset and CMDB data, supports audits, manages exceptions, and acts as an L2 escalation point for Asset Management and CMDB-related activities.

The position works closely with Service Management, Change, Incident, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams to maintain a trusted CMDB and enable downstream processes such as chargeback, compliance, and lifecycle planning

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Asset & CMDB Operations (L2) Maintain and govern end‑to‑end asset lifecycle management (procurement, deployment, inventory, refresh, decommission, disposal) in the Asset Management system and CMDB. Ensure timely and accurate updates of asset and CI records following approved changes, incidents, and service requests Act as L2 escalation for complex asset/CMDB issues, data discrepancies, and reconciliation failures. Validate CI relationships, attributes, ownership, and status in line with agreed CMDB data models. CMDB Data Quality & Governance Monitor and improve CMDB data quality KPIs (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency). Perform periodic CMDB and asset audits, identify gaps, and drive corrective acti

Skill Requirements

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong hands‑on experience in Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and CMDB operations.
  • Experience with ITSM/CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of CI classes, relationships, and data models (infrastructure, end‑user, application‑linked assets).
  • Experience supporting asset audits, compliance checks, and lifecycle governance.

Process & Framework Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge of ITIL v3 / ITIL 4, especially Asset, Configuration, Change, and Incident Management.
  • Understanding of asset lifecycle, EOL/EOS management, and integration with financial processes.

Soft Skills

  • Need French language proficient candidate, with English language communication skills at manageable level being a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for data discrepancies and trend analysis.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in global, multi‑vendor environments.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of experience in IT Asset Management / CMDB / ITSM operations.
  • ITIL Foundation (or higher) certification preferred.
  • Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments is an advantage.

  • High CMDB accuracy and audit pass rate.
  • Reduction in asset/CI discrepancies and “CI not found” incidents.
  • Timely and reliable asset data availability for financial, compliance, and operational reporting.
  • Improved process maturity and automation adoption in HAM & CMDB.
