Job Summary

Incident Management Handle network and security incidents escalated from the L1 team. Perform advanced troubleshooting for network and security-related issues. Restore services within agreed SLA timelines. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents. Coordinate with vendors and OEM support for complex issues. 2. Network Administration Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot: Routers Switches Wireless Controllers & Access Points SD-WAN Solutions Load Balancers Manage VLANs, STP, Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP). Monitor network performance and optimize utilization. Perform firmware and IOS upgrades. 3. Security Administration Manage and troubleshoot: Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point) VPN Solutions (SSL VPN, IPSec VPN) Proxy Servers NAC Solutions IDS/IPS Web Security Appliances Implement and maintain security policies and access controls. Review firewall rules and security configurations. Analyze security events and alerts. 4. Change Management Review and implement approved network and security changes. Perform risk assessment before change implementation. Create implementation and rollback plans. Participate in CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings. Ensure proper documentation of all changes. 5. Monitoring & Alert Management Monitor infrastructure using tools such as: SolarWinds FortiAnalyzer Analyze alerts and take proactive actions. Identify capacity and performance issues. Escalate critical alerts as required. 6. Troubleshooting & Problem Management Diagnose: Network latency issues Packet loss Routing issues VPN connectivity problems Firewall policy issues Internet and WAN outages Perform packet capture and traffic analysis. Maintain troubleshooting documentation and known error database. 7. Security Compliance & Audit Support Ensure compliance with organizational security standards. Support internal and external audits. Provide audit evidence and reports. Conduct periodic access reviews and rule validations. Ensure adherence to security best practices. 8. Documentation & Reporting Prepare and maintain: Network diagrams SOPs Configuration backups Knowledge articles RCA documents Update tickets with detailed troubleshooting steps and resolution notes. Generate operational and service reports. 9. Vendor Management Coordinate with ISP and OEM vendors. Open and track support cases. Schedule maintenance activities with vendors. Validate vendor-provided fixes and upgrades. 10. Knowledge Transfer & Team Support Mentor L1 engineers. Provide technical guidance during major incidents. Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities. Support onboarding of new team members.
