Job Summary

The SharePoint Online Administrator – Level 2 is responsible for the administration, support, governance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s SharePoint Online environment and associated Microsoft 365 collaboration services. The role provides Level 2 operational and technical support, manages platform-related incidents and service requests, and contributes to the implementation of governance, compliance, and automation standards. This position requires hands-on expertise in SharePoint Online administration, content migration projects, Power Platform governance, Microsoft Purview compliance capabilities, and PowerShell/PnP scripting. The incumbent will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, security, and compliance functions to ensure the collaboration platform remains secure, compliant, efficient, and aligned with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 1. SharePoint Online Administration • Administer, maintain, and support SharePoint Online sites, site collections, hubs, permissions, storage, and sharing configurations. • Manage the provisioning, configuration, lifecycle, and archival of SharePoint Online sites and related collaboration assets. • Monitor service health, platform usage, and operational performance, and take corrective action where required. • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues related to permissions, access, content management, metadata, search, synchronization, and site functionality. • Support end users and site owners in the effective use of SharePoint Online features and capabilities. • Maintain governance standards for information architecture, taxonomy, metadata, and content organization. 2. Migration Support and Delivery • Support the planning and execution of migration initiatives to SharePoint Online from legacy repositories, including SharePoint on-premises, file shares, and third-party content platforms. • Conduct migration assessments, content inventory reviews, remediation planning, and readiness activities. • Utilize approved migration tools such as ShareGate, SPMT, Migration Manager, or equivalent solutions. • Validate migration outcomes, including content completeness, permissions, metadata, and version history. • Provide post-migration support, stabilization, and issue resolution during cutover and hypercare phases. • Prepare and maintain migration documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures. 3. Power Platform Governance • Support governance and administration activities across the Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate environments. • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of governance controls such as environment management, connector controls, DLP policies, and usage monitoring. • Review low-code solutions for alignment with organizational security, compliance, and operational policies. • Work with stakeholders to promote responsible platform adoption and governance best practices. • Identify and report governance risks associated with unmanaged or non-compliant applications and flows. 4. Microsoft Purview and Compliance Support • Support the implementation and administration of Microsoft Purview capabilities relevant to Microsoft 365 collaboration services. • Assist in managing retention policies, retention labels, sensitivity labels, data lifecycle controls, and information protection measures. • Collaborate with compliance, legal, records management, and security teams to support policy enforcement and content governance. • Contribute to audit readiness, reporting, and compliance-related administrative activities. • Help ensure SharePoint Online and related services operate in accordance with corporate and regulatory compliance requirements. 5. Scripting and Automation • Develop, maintain, and enhance PowerShell and PnP PowerShell scripts for administration, reporting, provisioning, and bulk operational tasks. • Automate recurring administrative and governance processes to improve efficiency and consistency. • Produce scripts and reports for permissions reviews, site inventories, orphaned site identification, and compliance checks. • Maintain technical documentation for scripts, automation workflows, and support procedures. • Support continuous improvement initiatives through the use of automation and scripting best practices. 6. Incident, Request, and Problem Management • Provide Level 2 support for escalated incidents, service requests, and operational issues related to SharePoint Online and associated Microsoft 365 services. • Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions. • Collaborate with Level 1 support teams, engineering teams, and external vendors as required to resolve issue
