Logical Activation | Layer 3 Activation Global
Global Layer 3 Activation Engineer is responsible for all activation activities including customer self-activation, attended activation, prebuilds, hot cuts and changes.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Prep activities include coordination of Third-Party Access Providers, prepping the circuit for the activation, and coordinating with the client and Order Management
- Prebuild
- Customer self-scheduled activations
- On demand & pre-Scheduled WAN/LAN activation
- Scheduled migrations / hot cuts / changes
- Automated Call Distributor (ACD) Support
- Coordination of LEC / PTT / FOPs related to activations.
- Escalation support
- Dedicated Customer / Project support
- This also includes support for calls from Customers and internal Verizon groups as well as escalation support
Skill Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- Very good knowledge of Telecommunications
- Familiar with working with Telco Local Exchange/Central Office Access (Ethernet, DSL Local Loop (e.g., T1, E1, or fiber optic connections)
- Experienced in Networking, OSI Model & Networking resources & topology like Hubs, Switches, Routers (mainly Layer 1 & 2 devices)
- Hands-on knowledge of Networking Protocols & Ports (TCP/IP, PIP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Switching, Subnetting)
- Good awareness of Security (Firewall)
- Knowledge of Network Transportation such as VPN, VLAN, WLAN etc.
- Good communication skills
- International Telecoms and Networking experience of 3+ year
- Hands-on using multiple applications
- Telco Technical Support experience like resolving Connection/Wi-Fi/Speed Issues
- Good observation skills and documentation skills for Problem management & Escalation
- Relevant College Degree
- Industry certifications such as CCNA/P, Network+, JNCIA/P/CIS
