Role Summary

As a Proficient DevOps Engineer, you will support backend applications within the Payments domain, specifically in the SEPA Direct Debits area.

You will contribute to ensuring the availability, security, and lifecycle management (LCM) of critical platforms.

Role & Responsibilities

As part of a hybrid team your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring high availability and operational stability of the platforms
• Managing technical and functional incidents, including participation in the on-call rotation
• Supporting pre-production and production deployments
• Contributing to monitoring and alerting improvements
• Driving automation initiatives to increase efficiency
• Ensuring compliance with ING risk and security standards

Required Skills

Core Expertise

• Strong experience in Incident, Change, and Configuration Management (ITIL)
• Experience in Lifecycle management, risk management, and documentation
• Hands-on experience with
• Unix/Linux environments (including shell scripting)
• Red Hat OpenShift or equivalent container platforms
• Running containerized microservices
• Running Java components in virtualized environment
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines using YAML, Ansible, Git)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as: ELK, Grafana, Prometheus
• Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
• Experience with Kafka topics usage
• Experience or strong interest in Payments domain / SEPA Direct Debits
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum way of working
• Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation (24/7 service availability)

 

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

• Previous Operations experience within Financial domain
• Understanding of Java and Spring framework concepts
• Experience with Grid Gain, Apache Ignite, or other in-memory data solutions
• Knowledge of Cloud computing concepts
• Interest in Automation of repetitive tasks

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement devops strategies utilizing azure devops tools and services.
2. Automate software development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
3. Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and efficient delivery of software products.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build, deployment, and release processes.
5. Implement security measures within the devops pipeline to ensure data protection and compliance.
6. Provide technical guidance and support to team members on devops best practices.
7. Continuously evaluate and improve devops practices to enhance overall system performance and reliability.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in azure devops tools and services.
2. Strong understanding of ci/cd pipelines and their implementation using azure devops.
3. Experience with infrastructure as code (iac) tools like terraform or arm templates.
4. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as docker and kubernetes.
5. Familiarity with scripting languages like powershell, bash, or python.
6. Ability to work in an agile environment and apply agile principles to devops practices.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.

Other Requirements

1.Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification is preferred.
