Cybersecurity Architect – Data Security & Sovereign Cloud
Role Summary
The Cybersecurity Architect – Data Security & Sovereign Cloud is a senior, customer‑facing role responsible for consulting with global customers, architecting secure data protection solutions, and guiding implementation teams to deploy data security controls that enable data sovereignty across sovereign, private, and public cloud environments.
This role operates across HCLTech‑managed, customer‑owned, and co‑located deployments globally, working closely with GRC, cloud, infrastructure, application, and delivery teams to establish scalable, compliant, and resilient data security architectures.
Key Responsibilities
. Customer Consulting & Advisory
- Act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to customers, engaging with:
- CISOs, Security Architects, Data Protection Officers, Cloud Architects, and Compliance leaders
- Understand customer requirements related to:
- Data sovereignty and residency
- Regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, local data protection laws, industry regulations)
- Risk posture and business constraints
- Translate regulatory, business, and risk requirements into practical, implementable security architectures
2. Architecture & Design Leadership
- Design end‑to‑end data security architectures covering:
- Data discovery and classification
- Encryption at rest, in transit, and in use
- Key management (customer‑managed keys, HSMs, BYOK/CMK models)
- Tokenization, masking, and anonymization
- Database activity monitoring and sensitive data access controls
- Architect solutions across:
- Sovereign cloud environments
- Private cloud (on‑prem / hosted)
- Public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Ensure architecture aligns with:
- Data locality and jurisdictional control requirements
- Zero Trust principles
- Defense‑in‑depth strategies
3. Data Sovereignty Enablement
- Define and enforce data sovereignty models including:
- Control over data location, access, encryption keys, and administrators
- Segregation of duties across regions and legal entities
- Enable customer and regulator confidence by:
- Designing auditable, traceable, and policy‑driven controls
- Supporting sovereign cloud governance frameworks
- Ensure sovereignty requirements are maintained during:
- Cloud migrations
- Hybrid integrations
- Regional expansions
4. Implementation Guidance & Delivery Oversight
- Provide architectural direction and technical governance to implementation and delivery teams
- Review and guide:
- Low‑level designs (LLDs)
- Security configurations
- Integration patterns
- Ensure solutions are:
- Secure by design
- Scalable and performant
- Operationally sustainable
- Support troubleshooting of complex security and integration issues during deployment
5. Collaboration with GRC & Enterprise Teams
- Work closely with GRC teams to:
- Translate regulatory and policy requirements into technical controls
- Support audits, assessments, and compliance reporting
- Engage with:
- Cloud platform teams
