Job Summary:

The Tier‑1 ECAD Senior Support Engineer (Cadence Allegro) provides first‑line support for Cadence electronic design tools used by electrical and PCB design engineers. The role focuses on user onboarding, access provisioning, installation, licensing, environment configuration, and basic ECAD tool usage support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • First Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for Cadence Allegro user issues submitted via Jira.
  • Tier 1 Triage: Resolve Allegro application launch failures, login issues, and access problems.
  • Ticketing Discipline: Log, track, update, and document technical incidents accurately within Jira.
  • Supporting new PCB design Engineer onboarding for Allegro
  • License checkout and FlexLM errors​
  • Installation: Deploy and configure approved Allegro versions according to enterprise standards.
  • License management: Handle license server tasks using FlexLM, usage analytics, audit report preparation, and debugging license issues.
  • Workstation Readiness: Validate OS, graphics drivers, memory allocations, and VPN configurations for remote engineering.
  • PLM Connectivity: Support basic integration and data exchange between Allegro and PLM systems

 

Skills Required:

  • Allegro user support, Install and configure NX versions, License usage and diagnostics
  • Basic understanding of Allegro (PCB LY design modules)
  • PLM process (Lifecycle of PCB board, Revision control, Approval process)
  • Linux administration expertise with hands-on experience in managing engineering applications in Linux environments, Good-to-have Windows system administration knowledge as well.
  • Experience with Networking and Software configuration Management.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT Support / Allegro or OrCAD in engineering environment
  • Candidates will be provided with an Apple laptop and an iPhone to perform their assigned work.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
