Design Lead - Component Cost Estimation, Supplier Mgmt

Job Summary

The Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing Component Cost Estimation, Supplier Collaboration and Negotiation, and Supplier Development & Management with a focus on achieving cost-effective solutions and optimizing supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead component cost estimation activities to ensure accurate project budgeting and cost control
2. Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts
3. Develop and implement strategies to manage and enhance supplier relationships
4. Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
5. Provide guidance and support to cross functional teams on supplier related matters

Skill Requirements

1. Proficient in component cost estimation techniques and tools
2. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers
3. Experience in supplier development & management practices
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for building and maintaining supplier relationships
5. Analytical mindset with the capability to assess cost data and make informed decisions

Other Requirements

1.Certification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
