Job Summary

The Design Lead is responsible for overseeing component engineering and ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability. The primary focus is on leading the design process, considering DFM principles, and collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the component engineering efforts to ensure designs meet performance and cost targets
2. Apply dfm principles to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness
3. Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to drive design improvements
4. Conduct design reviews to identify potential issues and propose solutions
5. Develop and maintain design guidelines and standards for component engineering and dfm
6. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to component engineering and dfm

Skill Requirements

1. Solid understanding of component engineering principles and practices
2. Proficiency in design for manufacturability (dfm) techniques and methodologies
3. Experience with cad software and other design tools
4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams
6. Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality designs
7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
