Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing manufacturing process plans, should-cost models, and manufacturing documentation for components produced through Machining, Sheetmetal, Forging, and Casting processes. The role supports manufacturability, cost optimization, manufacturing readiness, and new product introduction through close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing process plans and should-cost estimates from engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Evaluate manufacturability, process selection, tooling, cycle times, and production methods to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation including PFDs, PFMEAs, Manufacturing Routers, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
- Create and maintain manufacturing data in SAP and MES (e.g., Solumina), including routers, work centers, and process information.
- Analyze supplier quotations, validate tooling/NRE costs, and support supplier evaluation and sourcing decisions.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing cost models, work center rates, labor standards, and cost databases.
- Support NPI, value engineering, DFM/DFC initiatives, and continuous cost reduction projects.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and Should-Cost Analysis.
- Hands-on shop floor experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar manufacturing industries
