Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of complex wafer processing equipment involving wet processing technologies.  Engineer will be a member of the Engineered to Order (ETO) team. The engineer will work closely cross functional engineering team members and manufacturing operations. This role involves overall system design, automation, gas and fluid delivery, with a concentration on fluidic design and system packaging

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop fluidic design and system packaging for Engineered to Order (ETO) single wafer processing systems based on customer requirements using Veeco PSP standards and procedures
  • Develop subassemblies and components for wet processing technologies
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise, while focusing on design quality, reliability, effective cost, and ease of manufacturing
  • Perform analytical studies and theoretical calculations, requiring a variety of engineering knowledge, including analysis of vessels, heat transfer, material structural analysis, static and dynamic, fluids, motion mechanisms
  • Define mechanical design specifications based on customer requirements and company capabilities
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes are compliant with standard design practices and safety codes; ensure appropriate tests are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner
  • Provide expertise in mechanical engineering while participating in design reviews
  • Support procurement efforts in correlation with overall project deadlines
  • Provide “hands on” assistance and support to the manufacturing team
  • Develop test plans and design of experiments and is directly involved in prototype development and testing
  • Create and release engineering documentation through the ECO process
  • Understand and adhere to various industry standards

Skill Requirements

Bachelor's in Mechanical engineering with 5-10 years of relevant experience.

1. Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals including material selection, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles 
2. Proficiency in cad design skills with experience in software such as solidworks, autocad,

 3. Good in Sheet metal, Machined parts design

4. Good at creation of Manufacturing drawings and GD&T

5. Knowledge on P&ID

6. Experience in ECR/ECN process

7. Ability to think creatively and problem solve to develop innovative design solutions 
8. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders 
9. Strong project management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality designs 
10. Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in all design work

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
