Job Summary
The Design Lead plays a critical role in steering the design team towards achieving exceptional design outcomes that align with the organizationâs strategic objectives. This position is responsible for establishing design standards, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and ensuring the integration of design thinking into product development processes, ultimately enhancing product quality and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
2. Lead And Mentor A Team Of Designers, Providing Guidance On Product Design Principles And Methodologies, To Deliver High-Quality Design Solutions That Meet Project Requirements.
3. Present Design Concepts And Strategies To Stakeholders, Effectively Gathering Feedback To Refine And Enhance Design Outcomes.
4. Establish And Maintain Design Standards, Guidelines, And Best Practices In Product Design To Ensure Consistency And Quality Across All Design Efforts.
5. Stay Informed About Industry Trends And Emerging Technologies, Leveraging Insights To Drive Innovation And Excellence In Product Design.
Skill Requirements
2. Proficiency In Design Tools Such As Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Or Figma.
3. Strong Knowledge Of Design For Manufacturing And Assembly (Dfma) Principles.
4. Familiarity With Geometric Dimensioning And Tolerancing (Gd&T) Techniques.
5. Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills.
Other Requirements
1. Optional But Valuable Certifications: Certified Product Designer (Cpd), Design Thinking Certification, Or Equivalent.
- Provides product team support for multitude of new product development activities (e.g. engineering testing, design and process characterization, and other V&V activities)
- Assists in conducting Quality Assurance documentation reviews and audits as needed
- Support execution of risk management activities
- Support development and execution of relevant process development and validation activities (e.g. IQ/OQ/TMV/APQ)
- Utilizes multifaceted industry and process excellence standards in daily quality operations, including, but not limited to, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Assists in addressing product or process issues (internally or externally manufactured) or in investigating customer complaints as needed
- Supports handling complex technical issues for manufacturing processes that are to be transferred to satellite facilities.
