Job Summary

System Engineer - Job Description

  • Board Bring up, integrate, and debug electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical subsystems to develop complex systems.
  • Investigate system-level failures, perform root cause analysis, and work with design teams to implement corrective and preventive solutions.
  • Characterize, validate, and calibrate system performance to meet functional and quality requirements.
  • Define, develop, and support production test processes in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Hardware, Software, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Architecture, Manufacturing, Operations, Service, and Clinical Engineering.
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, verification, and performance optimization activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and manufacturability.

  • Lead the bring-up, integration, and debugging of electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical subsystems to develop complex, high-performance products.
  • Perform root cause analysis of system-level failures, provide corrective action recommendations, and collaborate with design teams to implement long-term solutions.
  • Characterize, validate, and calibrate system performance to ensure product reliability and compliance with requirements.
  • Define, develop, and optimize production test methodologies in partnership with manufacturing teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Hardware, Software, Embedded Systems, Robotics Controls, Clinical Engineering, Product Architecture, Manufacturing, Operations, Service, and Surgical Instrument teams.

Skill Requirements

  • Strong experience in system integration, bring-up, and debugging of hardware, software, firmware, and mechanical systems.
  • Solid knowledge of embedded systems, computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB bring-up, sensors, instrumentation, microcontrollers (Arduino or similar), and server-based systems.
  • Expertise in root cause analysis, system validation, calibration, and production test development.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
