Product Change Analyst – Mission and Responsibilities

The Product Change Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate implementation of engineering changes to minimize quality risks for customers. This position involves close collaboration with the Product Engineering team, BU Design team, and GOPS Operations team to facilitate successful product changes that meet specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate and report activities related to engineering changes, including Problem Reports (PR), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
• Monitor PR/ECR/ECO status and provide support to Product Engineering staff, including Program Managers.
• Oversee PR/ECR progression and proactively address any hindrances to ensure timely closure.
• Execute and manage the change management process, authorizing ECRs and introducing Enterprise ECOs.
• Work closely with Product Engineering (Program Manager), Component Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure product changes are well-documented, clear, and precise.
• Understand the Bill of Materials (BOM) structure, hierarchy of part families, attributes, attribute values, and attribute groups.
• Apply CM2 philosophy and guidance in change management processes.
• Demonstrate expertise in using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to manage parts, products, and related data throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Support product structure strategies by breaking products down into systems, subsystems, functions, and individual components to ensure optimal functionality.
• Assist the Product Line Engineering, VC team, and OFE team with product configuration, including BOM and PSM management.
• Facilitate the ECO implementation process, including cut-ins for new product offerings, features, and enhancements.
• Track, manage, and report on key PR/ECR/ECO metrics to ensure effective oversight of change management activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. To conduct thorough analysis of user needs and system specifications.
2. To develop detailed design specifications and documentation including system components and user interfaces.
3. To create prototypes to illustrate the functionality of the software ,gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user /stakeholder input.
4. To collaborate with cross-functional teams, to create cohesive and user-friendly interfaces.
