Job Summary
Experience Level: 3–7 years in MicroStrategy administration (primary focus), plus basic development exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the MicroStrategy platform: installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, clustering, high-availability, and environment setup (Dev/Stage/Prod).
- Handle user/group management, roles, privileges, security filters, LDAP/SSO integration, and access controls.
- Perform object migrations across environments (Dev → Stage → Prod) using Object Manager, migration packages, or Project Merge; define migration procedures, resolve conflicts, handle change management, and ensure controlled promotions.
- Monitor system health, performance, caching strategy, VLDB properties tuning, server logs, capacity planning, and bottleneck troubleshooting.
- Manage metadata, backups, recovery, integrity checks, and compliance/security standards.
- Use admin tools: MSTR Cloud, MSTR Developer, Command Manager (scripting/automation), License Manager, Object Manager.
- Support report/dashboard stability: basic troubleshooting, minor fixes (e.g., prompts, filters, simple metrics), and environment refreshes.
- Collaborate with developers, vendor, and business users to maintain a reliable BI platform.
Skill Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in MicroStrategy administration.
- Expertise in platform management, security, performance tuning, and migrations (Object Manager/packages) across Dev/Stage/Prod.
- Basic SQL and relational database knowledge.
- 3 - 5 years relevant experience; able to manage admin and migration tasks independently.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and process-oriented skills.
Other Requirements
- Familiarity with simple reports, dashboards, metrics, attributes, facts, filters in MicroStrategy Developer/Web.
- Basic schema objects and SQL knowledge for performance/debugging support.
