Job Summary
Own Reliability software deliverables for assigned hardware programs end to end: agree the test specification with Reliability Engineering, file and track software requirements against program deadlines, then develop, validate, and release.
- Write scripts and software to apply system-level stress and accelerate aging of prototype hardware, in partnership with the Reliability Software team.
- Debug and troubleshoot Reliability software in person and on-device with engineers at manufacturing partner sites.
- Audit use of Reliability software at manufacturing sites; identify issues with lab process or software.
- Author and maintain the standard operating procedures that operators at partner sites follow to run each test.
- Coordinate and report status of software validation between the partner sites and the U.S. team, including weekly written status and recurring calls that overlap U.S. Pacific hours.
Qualifications
- BS EE/CS or above.
- At least 4 years software development and scripting experience.
- Strong scripting fundamentals in at least one dynamic language and proven ability to pick up a new one quickly.
- Solid shell scripting, plus extensive experience with developer tools such as the Unix command line and IDEs.
- Familiar with SW development process, SCM, GIT.
- Comfortable debugging on-device from logs and serial console, with no debugger or IDE attached.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Fast learner, self-driven and passionate.
Preferred Skill
- Experience working with factories
- Experienced in development on Mac or Linux platform.
- Familiar with sequencing consumer device subsystems in test software.
- Lua programming language
Key Responsibilities
2. To maintain the existing project by resolving/troubleshooting/debugging issues occurring in the existing project/application.
