Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to support the design and transformation activities associated with a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) program. The resource will lead NSX/ANS architecture, design validation, and implementation planning across existing and future-state environments.
The role will work closely with customer stakeholders, VMware architects, network teams, automation specialists, and delivery leads to define scalable, supportable, and operationally aligned NSX solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architect And Design Robust Solutions Utilizing Vmware Vsphere And Vcenter To Ensure High-Performance And Scalable Infrastructure That Meets Product Delivery Requirements.
2. Implement And Oversee Vmware Vsan Solutions To Optimize Storage Performance And Efficiency While Ensuring Data Integrity And Availability.
3. Conduct Training Sessions To Develop The Team Expertise In Vmware Technologies, Ensuring A Skilled Workforce Capable Of Meeting Project Demands And Mitigating Delivery Risks.
4. Collaborate With Stakeholders To Gather Comprehensive Specifications And Deliver Tailored Solutions That Align With Client Needs And Industry Standards.
5. Stay Current With Emerging Technologies And Best Practices In Sddc And Aria Monitoring Tools, Ensuring That The Solutions Designed Meet Quality Standards And Enhance Operational Efficiency.
- Lead architecture and design activities for VMware NSX & ANS within a VCF 9.x environment
- Assess existing network and security architecture and define transformation strategy
- Produce high-level and detailed design documentation
- Define NSX overlay, routing, segmentation, gateway, and security architecture
- Support brownfield integration and migration planning
- Assess dependencies and impacts across:
- Existing data centre networking
- F5/load balancing
- Firewall/security controls
- Identity and access integration
- Work collaboratively with automation and platform teams
- Provide technical leadership during workshops, design reviews, and implementation planning
- Identify risks, constraints, and remediation requirements
- Support operational readiness and knowledge transfer activities.
Skill Requirements
- Strong experience designing and implementing VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments
- Proven experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
- Deep understanding of:
- Overlay networking
- BGP/OSPF routing
- Distributed firewalling and micro-segmentation
- Edge node design and high availability
- Network virtualization concepts
- Experience with brownfield transformation and migration programs
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
- Experience producing enterprise architecture and detailed design documentation
- Ability to work across infrastructure, security, and application teams
Other Requirements
- Experience with VCF 9.x
- Experience integrating NSX with:
- F5
- Automation
- Identity providers and RBAC models
- Exposure to automation and Infrastructure as Code approaches
- Experience within large enterprise or service provider environments
