2. Role Summary We are seeking an experienced SAP Material Management (MM) Consultant with 11–13 years of hands-on expertise to play a pivotal role in our Greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation for a leading manufacturing client. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end design, configuration, testing, and deployment of the SAP MM module, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules and alignment with manufacturing industry best practices. This is a senior-level position requiring a deep understanding of procurement, inventory management, warehouse management, and supply chain processes within a manufacturing environment. The candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing strategic guidance and technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle — from Fit-to-Standard workshops to post-go-live hypercare support. 3. Key Responsibilities 3.1 Project Initiation & Blueprint / Fit-to-Standard Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops with business stakeholders to understand and document AS-IS processes and define TO-BE processes for the manufacturing client. Prepare and present Business Process Design (BPD) documents, functional specifications, and solution design documents for the SAP MM module. Conduct gap analysis between standard SAP S/4HANA MM best practices and client-specific manufacturing requirements. Participate in scope definition, project planning, and resource allocation in collaboration with the SAP Program Manager. Utilize SAP Activate methodology to drive greenfield implementation, leveraging SAP Best Practices and SAP Signavio Process Navigator for process modeling. 3.2 SAP MM Configuration & Customization Configure and set up SAP MM master data: Material Master, Vendor Master, Purchasing Info Records, Source Lists, and Quota Arrangements. Configure Organizational Structure: Company Code, Plant, Storage Location, Purchasing Organization, and Purchasing Groups for manufacturing plants. Set up Procurement processes: Purchase Requisition (PR), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Purchase Order (PO), Scheduling Agreements, Contracts, and Release Strategies. Configure Goods Movement processes: Goods Receipt (GR), Goods Issue (GI), Stock Transfer Orders (STO), Transfer Postings, and Physical Inventory. Set up Invoice Verification (LIV/MIRO): 2-way and 3-way matching, GR-based invoice verification, ERS (Evaluated Receipt Settlement). Configure Pricing Procedures, Condition Types, and Access Sequences for purchasing. Set up Special Procurement processes: Subcontracting, Consignment, Pipeline, and Returnable Transport Packaging (RTP). Configure Batch Management and Serial Number Management for manufacturing materials. Define MRP (Material Requirements Planning) relevant settings in coordination with SAP PP team. Implement Automatic Account Determination (OBYC) and Valuation configuration aligned with Finance/Controlling teams. 3.3 Integration with Other SAP Modules Ensure seamless integration of SAP MM with SAP PP (Production Planning) for raw material procurement and BOM explosion. Collaborate with SAP FI/CO consultants for GR/IR account determination, material ledger, and inventory valuation. Required Qualifications & Experience 4.1 Educational Qualification Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech), Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent. SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement (preferred but not mandatory if extensive experience exists). 4.2 Experience Requirements 11–13 years of total SAP MM functional consulting experience. Minimum 2–3 full-cycle SAP ECC or S/4HANA implementations (at least 1 as Lead Consultant), with at least 1 Greenfield implementation experience. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in the Manufacturing domain (Discrete/Process/Repetitive Manufacturing preferred). Experience with SAP S/4HANA MM is strongly preferred; deep SAP ECC MM expertise with readiness to transition to S/4HANA is acceptable. 5.
