EDI Technical Lead - Sterling Integrator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled EDI IBM Sterling Developer with experience in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (Sterling Integrator / SI) to design, develop, and support EDI integrations with trading partners. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of EDI standards, mapping, and business process development using Sterling tools.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain EDI solutions using IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
  • Create and manage business processes, maps, and workflows within Sterling Integrator
  • Configure and support EDI transactions such as X12, EDIFACT, XML, and flat files
  • Handle onboarding and setup of trading partners, including communication protocols (AS2, FTP/SFTP, HTTP, VAN)
  • Develop and maintain maps using Sterling Map Editor (WTX / ITX preferred)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot EDI workflows, failures, and data issues
  • Work on end-to-end integration flows, including inbound and outbound transactions
  • Collaborate with business teams, customers, and vendors to gather requirements
  • Perform production support, including issue resolution and root cause analysis
  • Ensure compliance with EDI standards and partner specifications
  • Maintain documentation for integration processes and configurations

Skill Requirements

  • Strong 5 – 7 years of experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SI)
  • Good understanding of EDI standards:
    • X12 (850, 810, 856, 997, etc.)
    • EDIFACT (ORDERS, INVOIC, DESADV, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Business Process modeling (BPML)
    • Sterling services, adapters, and routing rules
  • Knowledge of communication protocols:
    • AS2, SFTP, FTP, HTTP(s), VAN
  • Experience with data formats: XML, CSV, Flat files
  • Familiarity with mapping tools:
    • Sterling Map Editor / IBM Transformation Extender (ITX/WTX) preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix and shell scripting
  • Experience with database (SQL queries)

Other Requirements

  • Experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway
  • Knowledge of API integration / REST / web services
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in retail, supply chain, or logistics domain
