Job Summary
The L1 Network LAN/WAN Engineer is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure. The role focuses on first-level technical support, incident management, network monitoring, and escalation of complex issues to higher support levels while ensuring network availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor network performance using network management and monitoring tools. Provide Level 1 support for LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and network connectivity issues. Troubleshoot basic routing, switching, and connectivity problems. Respond to network alerts, incidents, and service requests within defined SLA timelines. Perform health checks on routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices. Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams with complete troubleshooting details. Assist in network device configuration and implementation activities. Maintain network documentation, incident records, and change management logs. Support VPN connectivity and remote user access issues. Coordinate with telecom vendors and service providers for WAN circuit issues. Participate in planned maintenance activities and network upgrades. Ensure adherence to IT security and compliance standards.
