Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing the execution of the Configuration Management process in its entirety. The CMDB Manager ensures that the process is adhered to and thus guarantees the integrity of the data stored within the CMDB. This entails reporting on compliance to the CMDB processes and KPI s associated with the CMDB processes.

Key Responsibilities

Understanding of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) IT Service Management lifecycle • Works with Configuration Management Process Owner (Client) to define the scope of the Configuration Management processes, what Configuration Items (CIs) are to be controlled, and the information that is to be recorded within the CMDB • Ability to develop and implement Configuration Management standards, plans, processes and procedures in line with the goals of the enterprise • Identifies Configuration Management data sources and recommend those that best meet CMDB requirements • Ensure CMDB Completeness and Accuracy through various audits • Ensuring all the Relationships for Critical CIs are available and accurate • Ensure that CMDB data is available and reliable to support other ITSM processes (Change, Incident, Problem, etc.) • Interfaces with other ITSM processes and/or business functions to ensure that they maximize the benefits provided by the Configuration Management process • Directs, prioritizes and schedules audits of the CMDB and initiates corrective actions to ensure compliance to established baselines • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skill Requirements

Able to work both independently as well as collaboratively • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments • Position requires strong interpersonal skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM platform and Discovery • Strong knowledge of IT CMDB processes and procedures
