Job Summary
The Tools & Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency through the development and maintenance of automation tools. This position focuses on asset management and ITIL processes, ensuring that all solutions align with organizational standards for quality and cost. The engineer will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality code and support existing projects while responding to client requests.
The Plant Floor Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing operations by ensuring smooth functioning of IT systems, production applications, and shop floor equipment. The role focuses on troubleshooting issues, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop Code For Asset Management Projects Using Relevant Programming Languages And Technologies, Ensuring Adherence To Time, Quality, And Cost Standards.
2. Maintain Existing Asset Management Systems By Troubleshooting And Resolving Issues, Applying Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Ensure Service Continuity.
3. Collaborate With Clients To Gather New Feature Requests And Implement Enhancements In Asset Management Solutions, Ensuring Alignment With Client Needs And Best Practices.
4. Create And Maintain Comprehensive Documentation For Code, Processes, And System Configurations To Support Knowledge Sharing And Operational Efficiency.
Provide on-site technical support for plant floor systems, including MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), SCADA, and production-related applications. Monitor and support shop floor IT infrastructure such as PCs, handheld devices, barcode scanners, printers, and network connectivity. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues impacting production. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, IT, and engineering) to resolve incidents quickly. Ensure minimal downtime by proactively addressing system issues and performing preventative maintenance. Support system upgrades, patches, and deployments in the plant environment. Maintain documentation for incidents, resolutions, and system configurations. Assist in user training and provide guidance on applications and systems used on the shop floor. Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and safety regulations. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.

Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management) is an advantage. Good understanding of production workflows and industrial environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
