Job Description for SQL Admin and Oracle Admin • Expert knowledge and strong proven experience in MSSQL Database Administration. • Highly skilled at database design, installations, conversions Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design and data storage management • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives • Strong experience in migration and upgradation (In place & side by side migration/upgradation) for different versions. • Expert knowledge and strong experience in Database Administration in SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and SQL Server 2008 R2. • Perform quality checks on reports and exports to ensure exceptional quality, Troubleshoot application slowness and performance issues. • Knowledge of high availability solutions such as Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, AlwaysOn and Strong troubleshooting experience to solve cluster and AlwaysOn issue within SLA time. • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. • Good experience in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server • Ability to maintain and monitor availability, security, and integrity of databases • Install and configure new Microsoft SQL Server instances, including AlwaysOn availability groups and failover clustering. • Experience in backup toll like networker & Commvault. • Highly skilled at database design, installations, conversions Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design and data storage management • Experienced in Database Performance, Maintenance and Development to perform the following: o Database management including backups, recovery and maintenance o Database management for export, import and mass data loads o Analyzes and generation of all tables and index statistics o Monitoring and resolving data lock issues o Check all statistics related to memory, locks, I/O, database response time, wait events, top sessions and background processes o On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) to capture, validate and store large amounts of transactions o Create indexes to achieve critical dataset response time for time sensitive reports • Strong experience in installing SQL Server service packs and updates. • Configure and manage SQL Security settings. • Make system design recommendations according to Microsoft SQL Server best practices. • Manage database backup & recovery & DR planning in collaboration with IT manager and System Engineer. • Create, modify, and optimize SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans. • Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed jobs and resolve issues in a timely manner. • Strong experience in Troubleshoot application slowness and performance issues. • Responsible for T-SQL query tuning Responsible for database migrations and server upgrades. • Documentation and training of routine database administration tasks and train team members. • Responsible for ETL of large data into SQL Server Author and modify SQL Server Reporting Services reports. • Perform SQL Server integration with enterprise applications. • Oracle DBA L1 work Knowledge of ITIL process and tools. Expertise with reporting of operational activities with client and other stake holders. Enhanced working knowledge with other related technologies – Platform MS Windows 2008, 2012 and 2016, Storage & backup technologies. Quick turnaround for high priority issues , customer communication, Problem management and root cause analysis creation
