Job Summary

A full-stack software engineer with strong AI/GenAI expertise, capable of designing and building agentic solutions, working directly with clients, leading small teams, and creating reusable AI accelerators while applying modern DevOps and software engineering best practices.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you operate at the front line of delivery ; embedded with the client, turning ambiguous business problems into working software, fast. You own the outcome end to end: conceptualize the solution, prototype it, integrate it into the client's real environment, harden it, and lead a small team to ship and sustain it. You are part builder, part consultant, and an engineer who uses AI/GenAI as a force multiplier for delivery and operational efficiency. You bring HCLTech's AI/GenAI capabilities to life inside the client's world, with Responsible AI and security as non-negotiables

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals - design, clean code, version control, testing, sound architecture; with hands-on full-stack delivery.
  • Proven experience with standards-based integrations, integration patterns, DevOps/DevSecOps and test automation.
  • Conceptual fluency in AI/GenAI and a working habit of using AI coding assistants for productivity; understands what agents, prompting, RAG and context graphs are and where they add value.
  • Ability to conceptualize solutions to business problems quickly and operate effectively in ambiguous, customer-embedded settings.
  • Client-facing maturity: translates fluidly between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and owns outcomes.
  • Experience mentoring or leading small teams.
  • A genuine appetite to deepen AI/GenAI skills fast.

Skill Requirements

    • Strong Software Engineering fundamentals including:

      • System design and architecture
      • Clean coding practices
      • Version control (Git)
      • Unit and integration testing
      • Full-stack application development

    • Experience with:

      • Integration patterns and standards-based integrations
      • DevOps / DevSecOps practices
      • Test automation frameworks
      • CI/CD pipelines

    AI / GenAI Skills

    • Solid understanding of:

      • AI and Generative AI concepts
      • AI coding assistants (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
      • Prompt Engineering
      • Agentic AI
      • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
      • Context Graphs
      • Context Engineering

    • Preferred advanced expertise in:

      • Building custom AI agents and reusable AI skills
      • Prompt caching and optimization
      • Cost and latency optimization for AI solutions
      • Multi-LLM architectures
      • Responsible AI and AI governance

    Problem Solving & Solution Design

    • Ability to rapidly analyze business challenges and design practical technical solutions.
    • Comfortable working in ambiguous and fast-changing customer environments.
    • Strong solution conceptualization and innovation mindset.

    Client & Communication Skills

    • Excellent stakeholder management.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
    • Strong customer-facing and consulting skills.
    • Ownership-driven approach with accountability for outcomes.

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Experience mentoring developers or leading small teams.
    • Strong collaboration and knowledge-sharing capabilities.
    • Ability to create reusable accelerators and frameworks that can be adopted across multiple engagements.

    Experience with AI development platforms such as:

    • GitHub Copilot / GHCP
    • Claude Code
    • Kiro
    • Cursor
    • Other agentic AI and multi-LLM platforms
