Job Summary

  • Technical
    • Design, develop, review, implement, and manage Java applications and services for the
    production and pre-release environments.
    • Drive end-to-end microservice development: from domain-driven design (DDD) and
    service boundary definition to implementation, observability, and deprecation. You will
    decompose monolithic capabilities into loosely coupled, business-aligned microservices
    with clear contracts and independent deployability.
    • Design, develop, review, implement, and manage continuous integration, build
    management and deployment scripts, systems, and any code as required.
    • Participate in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with
    international development teams to build scalable microservices-based products using
    Java technologies on AWS Cloud architecture.
    • Fully understand the requirements of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge
    to develop applications that are consistent with this.
    • Work with delivery teams to achieve success through development using CI/CD and
    DevOps practices, processes, and tooling.
    • Provide robust coding practices, solid unit/component test coverage, and debugging
    code. Lead contract testing to prevent breaking changes across microservice
    dependencies.
    • Mentor, provide technical direction and engineering leadership for a team of engineers.
    • Fulfil other tasks as assigned by your People Leader from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

10+ years experience as a Java resource in a complex, enterprise level development
environment.
• Java 11+ (17 preferred) with Spring Boot 3.x (Spring Web MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring
Security, Spring Retry, Spring WebFlux)
• Deep expertise in designing & developing complex microservices based systems,
including service decomposition, handling partial failures (bulkheads, timeouts, circuit
breakers), distributed logging and correlation ID propagation, and database-per-service
patterns.
• PostgreSQL with Hibernate (JPA), Flyway migrations, and JSONB support
• Apache Kafka with Confluent Schema Registry, Apache Avro, and Spring Kafka
• OpenAPI 3.0 with code generation (OpenAPI Generator) and Springdoc for API
documentation
• JWT / OAuth 2.0 for authentication and service-to-service authorization
• JUnit 5, Mockito, WireMock, REST Assured, and JaCoCo for multi-tier testing (unit,
component, blackbox)
• SonarQube, PMD, SpotBugs, Checkstyle for code quality; Checkmarx / Snyk for security
scanning
• Experience in Cloud computing and AWS (RDS, ElastiCache, SSM Parameter Store, STS)
• Docker & Docker Compose for containerised development; Harness CI for CI/CD
pipelines
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging in distributed microservice environments (e.g.,
identifying latency, serialization issues, network chattiness, or split-brain scenarios)
• Strong English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in global software
development environments
• Experience in Agile development environments
• Well-versed in writing structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code
