Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to build and operate the next-generation Order Management Platform. The engineer will be responsible for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platform engineering, CI/CD automation, observability, security, release management, and production reliability across OMS microservices and event-driven platforms. The modernization program focuses on scalable, resilient, API-first, cloud-native solutions.
The DevOps Engineer will be embedded in a scrum team supporting build, release, environment, and observability needs for order management microservices, working closely with backend engineers, QA, and platform/SRE teams.
Key Responsibilities
- CI/CD ownership: Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for microservices-based order management applications, enabling frequent, reliable automated releases.
- Infrastructure automation: Automate provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, ensuring consistency across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Containerization: Build, secure, and optimize container images and Kubernetes workloads (deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling) for order management microservices.
- Observability: Implement and optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting (metrics, dashboards, log aggregation, distributed tracing) to ensure production reliability, visibility and fast incident response.
- DevSecOps: Embed security scanning, secrets management, and compliance checks into the pipeline (SAST/DAST, container/image scanning, vault-based secrets).
- Release & support: Participate in release planning, deployment windows, rollback strategy, and production support/on-call rotations during go-live activities.
- Collaboration: Work with agile delivery teams, product owners, and client stakeholders; document runbooks, pipeline standards, and environment topology.
- Metrics & improvement: Track and report deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, and pipeline health, driving continuous improvement of the DevOps toolchain.
Skill Requirements
- 4–10 years of hands-on DevOps/Site Reliability experience in enterprise application environments; retail, supply chain, or order management domain exposure is a plus.
- Strong experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) – compute, networking, IAM, and managed cloud services.
- Solid hands-on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes (or a managed equivalent – EKS/AKS/GKE), including Helm based deployments.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, including build automation, artifact management (Nexus/Artifactory/JFrog), multi-stage deployments, automated rollback mechanisms, and release management.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation using Ansible, Chef or similar tools.
- Experience implementing GitOps practices for infrastructure and application deployments with Argo CD or Flux CD is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash/Shell scripting, experience with Groovy pipeline for CI/CD pipeline automation is an advantage
- Ingress Controllers/Horizontal Pod Autoscaler/Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd preferred)
- Hands-on experience implementing Blue-Green, Canary, and rolling deployment strategies, including automated rollback mechanisms.
- Monitoring/observability stack experience: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk, or Dynatrace/New Relic/AppDynamics/Distributed Tracing (OpenTelemetry/Jaeger).
- Strong experience with Git-based version control (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket), branching strategies, and code review workflows.
- Working knowledge of Java/Kotlin or Node.js-based microservice architectures, including how they're built, packaged, and deployed (does not need to code full features, but must understand build artifacts and dependency management – Maven/Gradle/npm).
- Familiarity with messaging/streaming platforms (Kafka or similar) and API gateway concepts commonly used in order management systems.
