Job Summary
A ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Expert will drive requirement workshops, configure workflows, and enhance portfolio visibility for leadership to improve the process and SPM module. Key responsibilities include creating user stories, configuring dashboards, developing customizations, improving the process and providing technical and functional expertise on the module and process.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Requirements Gathering: Plan and lead workshops to translate business goals into technical specifications.
- Solution Configuration: Implement SPM applications including Demand Management, and Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Strategic Planning, Portfolio Planning.
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve existing workflows for increased efficiency, usability, and strategic alignment. Deep dive in the functional process with the business and make it lean and effient.
- Technical Implementation: Build or customize workflows, configure portals, manage data, develop customizations as required
- System Testing: Conduct functional testing, UAT, and resolve defects prior to deployment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and leadership to ensure SPM alignment with business needs
Required Knowledge and Certifications
- Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of ServiceNow PPM, SPM Strategic Planning, Next Experience (ServiceNow Workspaces)
- Certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - PPM are highly preferred.
- Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management, plus ITIL framework.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to use Scenario Planning to simulate decisions.

- Core Modules: Demand, Project, Portfolio, Strategic Planning, Program, and Resource Management.
Typical Experience Level
- 7-12 years of experience in ServiceNow SPM or related project management technology implementations.

2. To spearhead the architecture, design, and development (through a high-performing team) of innovative solutions for product/project & sustenance delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
3. To ensure knowledge up-gradation and work with new technologies so that the solution is current and meets quality standards and the client requirements
4. To review architecture and design deliverables and ensure solutions adhere to industry best practices ,architectural standards simultaneously establish and enforce governance /compliance measures.
5. To train and develop team so as to ensure that there is an adequate supply of trained manpower in the said technology and delivery risks are mitigated
