Job Summary
"This role is responsible for designing and implementing robust integration between Siemens Teamcenter (via Teamcenter Gateway – T4S) and SAP S/4HANA PLM (PLMSI components). The focus is on enabling seamless synchronization of materials, BOMs, documents, and engineering changes, with Teamcenter acting as the Engineering System of Record and SAP as the Execution/Digital Core System.
The consultant will primarily work on SAP-side integration (PLMSI) while collaborating closely with the Teamcenter Gateway (T4S) team for mapping, message exchange, and process orchestration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Integration Architecture (Gateway-Centric Model)
• Define end-to-end integration architecture:
o Teamcenter (T4S Gateway) → middleware layer → SAP S/4HANA PLMSI
• Design SAP-side integration leveraging:
o IDocs (MATMAS, BOMMAT, CHRMAS, LOIPRO if applicable)
o BAPIs/RFCs for master and BOM processing
o SAP PLM Engineering Change Management (ECM)
• Define system-of-record boundaries:
o Teamcenter → Engineering & design data
o SAP → Manufacturing, costing, execution data
• Establish interaction model:
o Gateway-triggered API/IDoc inbound processing in SAP
o Acknowledgement and feedback loop to Teamcenter
________________________________________
2. SAP PLMSI Integration Development
• Develop and configure SAP inbound interfaces to process Teamcenter Gateway messages:
o Material creation/update
o BOM creation/update (CSAP/CSAP_MAT_BOM APIs, IDocs)
o Change Master integration (CC01/CC02 via BAPI)
• Implement:
o Function modules / BADIs / enhancement spots for PLM data processing
o Data validation and enrichment logic within SAP
• Support PLMSI framework configuration:
o Object dependencies
o Status management
o Change control integration
________________________________________
3. Teamcenter Gateway (T4S) Collaboration
• Work closely with T4S team to:
o Define mapping specifications (Teamcenter Item ↔ SAP Material, BOM structures)
o Align revision/version handling
o Define payload structures (XML/IDoc-compatible formats)
• Participate in:
o Gateway configuration discussions
o End-to-end integration testing
• Troubleshoot issues across:
o T4S layer
o Middleware/message queues
o SAP inbound processing
________________________________________
4. Data Mapping & Process Alignment
• Own SAP-side mapping logic:
o Teamcenter Item → SAP Material Master
o Revision → Change master/effectivity
o EBOM → SAP BOM (STKO/STPO structures)
• Ensure:
o Correct handling of effectivity dates
o Version/revision traceability
o BOM alternatives and variants
• Maintain mapping documents:
o Field-level mapping
o Transformation rules
o Validation criteria"
