Job Description – MSC Support L2 Engineer (Java + AWS + Microservices)
Role Summary:
The engineer will be part of a global 24/7 Production Support team responsible for critical Media Supply Chain (MSC) applications across on-prem and AWS environments. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with Java microservices, AWS services, databases, and the ability to support high-volume content operations.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2 Production Application Support for Media Supply Chain applications, REST API-based microservices, and AWS-hosted services.
- Investigate and resolve production application & content workflow issues with clear RCA documentation.
- Perform proactive monitoring of logs, workflows, queues, integrations, and AWS resources.
- Work in rotational shift operations with required onsite overlap; flexibility during weekends if needed.
- Collaborate with global engineering, platform, and content operations teams across time zones.
- Support production releases, validation, deployment checks, and post-release monitoring.
- Troubleshoot issues across Java/Spring Boot microservices, API failures, AWS components, and databases.
- Maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and operational checklists.
- Participate in operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skill Requirements
Java & Microservices:
- Strong experience with Core Java, Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Ability to debug microservices, review logs, and analyze code-level issues.
AWS Cloud:
Hands-on experience with core AWS services such as:
- EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM
- Ability to monitor AWS resources, validate integrations, and support deployments.
Databases & Tools:
- Strong SQL skills (advanced SELECT/JOIN).
- Experience with Oracle, MongoDB, or similar NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to CloudWatch Logs, Kibana, Splunk, or equivalent monitoring tools.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with media workflows or media supply chain platforms (preferred).
- Knowledge of Python, Node.js, or React.js (optional but beneficial).
- Experience with ServiceNow , Jira or other Incident Management tool
Other Requirements
Experience Required:
- 3 to 8 years of experience in Java development or Application Production Support.
- Experience supporting distributed microservices applications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with global teams.
