Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Moogsoft Cloud team. 

The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the availability, scalability, and reliability of Moogsoft’s AIOps platform across production and staging environments.  

This role demands a strong background in monitoring, observability, and infrastructure automation, along with hands-on experience managing Kubernetes, AWS cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines. The SRE will collaborate closely with development, QA, and platform teams to optimize performance, automate operations, and implement proactive monitoring strategies.  

You will be responsible for defining infrastructure as code and ensuring operational excellence through continuous improvement and data-driven insights. 

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support production systems, ensuring rapid response and resolution of critical incidents. 
• Act as the primary incident responder during on-call shifts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to restore service quickly. 
• Lead and contribute to incident triage, mitigation, and root cause analysis (RCA) for high-severity production issues. 
• Maintain high system uptime and availability across Moogsoft’s production and pre-production environments. 
• Design, implement, and manage monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch. 
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform/Terragrunt modules for multi-environment deployments. 
• Support Kubernetes operations including cluster lifecycle management, troubleshooting, and Helm-based deployments. 
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate release workflows using Jenkins (Groovy)  
• Ensure compliance with operational best practices, including security, backups, performance tuning, and cost optimization. 

Skill Requirements

Technical Skills 

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities 
• Familiarity with system design concepts 

Kubernetes 

• Deep understanding of Kubernetes cluster architecture, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. 
• Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts, managing upgrades and configuration. 

Monitoring & Alerting 

• Prometheus: Metrics collection, PromQL queries, custom exporters. 
• Alertmanager: Configure routing, silencing, deduplication, and alert grouping. 
• ElastAlert: Define and manage alert rules using Elasticsearch queries. 
• Grafana: Build dashboards, set alerts, and integrate with Prometheus/OpenSearch. 

Logging & Observability 

• OpenSearch: Strong expertise in querying logs, creating visualizations, managing index lifecycles, and optimizing clusters. 

Infrastructure 

• Terraform/Terragrunt: Write reusable modules, manage state, and handle multi-environment automation. 

CI/CD & Automation 

• Jenkins (Groovy): Ability to write and maintain Jenkins pipelines using Groovy. 
• Python: Scripting capability for automation, monitoring, and tooling. 

Databases 

• Kafka: Understanding producers, consumers, partitions, and troubleshooting. 
• OpenSearch: Knowledge of indexing, cluster management, and query optimization. 
• MongoDB: Experience managing collections, indexes, and replication. 
• Aurora MySQL: Backup management, performance tuning, and failover handling.
