Java Technical Lead - DevOps, AWS

Job Summary

Devops Engineers are hybrid software and system engineers responsible for maintaining and enhancing Quest Diagnostics cloud footprint.  As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for developing the efficient planning, provisioning, installation/configuration, and operations of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure in a hybrid cloud architecture.  As well as developing all the necessary process with guidance from architecture to facilitate above actions. 

This position is unique as it will report to the infrastructure architecture team and expected to lead by example the “right way” to deploy to the cloud.  You will also be expected to serve as a mentor to our existing devops and newly formed cloud operations team.  Working closely with Quest’s architecture, operational, and security teams, you will play a key role in developing new teams and processes to support Quest Diagnostics cloud applications.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Act as a bridge between developers, architects and engineers to solve problems and enhance the security, reliability and performance of the platform.

 Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the infrastructure operations teams.

 Automate all aspects of the technology lifecycle from deployment through to decommissioning.

 Build systems that proactively monitor the security, health and performance of cloud applications.

 Design and maintain CI/CD systems and processes to support smooth software releases.

 Be an ambassador for the DevSecOps mindset in both technical and non-technical settings.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
