Role Summary

A Senior DevOps Engineer (Applications) is responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing application delivery pipelines, ensuring reliable deployment, performance, and scalability of applications. The role bridges development and operations, enabling continuous integration, delivery, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application Delivery & CI/CD

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for application build, test, and deployment.
• Automate application deployment across environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
• Optimize release cycles for faster and reliable software delivery.

2. Infrastructure & Cloud Management

• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform/Ansible.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of application platforms.

3. Application Operations & Reliability

• Monitor application performance and system health using observability tools.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Ensure SLA adherence for uptime and performance.

4. Automation & Tooling

• Develop scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate operational tasks.
• Build and maintain DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Improve deployment speed and reduce manual intervention.

5. Security & Compliance (DevSecOps)

• Integrate security checks and compliance controls into pipelines.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise security and governance standards.

6. Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with application development teams to streamline delivery.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Drive DevOps best practices across teams.

Skill Requirements

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Scripting knowledge: Python / Bash
• Strong Linux and networking fundamentals

Application-Focused Skills

Other Requirements
