Job Summary

Senior Engineer / Senior Administrator – Windows, VMware & Nutanix Role Summary • Lead administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments and VMware infrastructure. • Own availability, performance, patching, and lifecycle management across enterprise-scale systems. ________________________________________ Core Responsibilities Windows Server Administration • Manage and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments. • Handle AD (Active Directory), GPO, DNS, DHCP configuration and troubleshooting. • Perform patching, hardening, and compliance remediation. • Manage file servers, clustering, and high availability setups. • Resolve L2/L3 incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA). • Windows installation and in place upgrades • Strong troubleshooting knowledge in windows booting issue VMware Administration • Manage vSphere, ESXi, vCenter environments at scale. • Perform VM provisioning, cloning, snapshots, resource optimization. • Handle cluster management (HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion). • Execute patching/upgrades using VMware Lifecycle Manager (LCM). • Manage datastores, storage integration, and performance tuning. Operations & Automation • Drive incident, problem, and change management (ServiceNow or equivalent). • Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell / scripting. • Monitor infrastructure using tools like vROps, SolarWinds, Dynatrace or other monitoring tools. • Support backup and DR operations (e.g., Veeam, Commvault). Hardware Knowledge: Cisco, Dell & HP products Security & Compliance • Implement system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and audit support. • Ensure adherence to enterprise security policies (e.g., CIS benchmarks, patch SLAs). ________________________________________ Required Skills • Strong experience in: o Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, GPO) o VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS) • Hands-on experience in: o Patching, upgrades, lifecycle management o Performance tuning & troubleshooting • Scripting knowledge: o PowerShell (mandatory) • Good understanding of: o Networking basics (VLAN, IP, DNS resolution) o Storage concepts (SAN/NAS) ________________________________________ Preferred Skills • VMware certifications (VCP / VCAP) • Experience with: o VMware Aria / vROps o Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) o Cloud (Azure/AWS hybrid setups) • Exposure to: o Security compliance (PCI, ISO audits) o Experience in handling Nutanix HCI infrastructure. ________________________________________ Experience • 8–12+ years in Windows & VMware infrastructure • Experience in enterprise or managed services environments ________________________________________ Behavioral Expectations (Senior Level) • Own end-to-end problem resolution • Mentor juniors and drive operational excellence • Push automation and stability improvements • Communicate clearly with delivery, security, and leadership teams
