Project Coordinator – Data Security / DSPM Job Title: Project Coordinator – Data Security / DSPM Experience: 3–6 years Location: India Function: Cybersecurity / Data Security / Program Management Position Overview We are looking for a Project Coordinator with a strong working knowledge of Data Security, Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), and data governance to support data security and DSPM initiatives across the organization. The individual will be responsible for coordinating technical and business activities, tracking project milestones and dependencies, maintaining project plans and documentation, coordinating meetings and action items, and ensuring timely communication across cybersecurity, data, cloud, infrastructure, application, compliance, and business teams. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of DSPM, data discovery, data classification, data security, data governance, Microsoft Purview, and cloud/data environments. While this is primarily a coordination role, the individual should be technically conversant enough to understand engineering discussions, track technical deliverables, identify dependencies and risks, and effectively communicate with technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Coordinate data security and DSPM implementation projects from initiation through completion. Work closely with cybersecurity, data security, cloud, infrastructure, IAM, application, data engineering, compliance, and business teams to coordinate project activities and deliverables. Maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, and action items. Coordinate onboarding of enterprise data sources and applications into DSPM platforms such as Cyera. Track activities related to data source discovery, connectivity, scanning, data classification, sensitive data identification, risk assessment, and remediation. Coordinate with engineering and data teams on DSPM integrations, configurations, technical dependencies, and implementation activities. Maintain an inventory of data sources, applications, integrations, data owners, technical owners, and project status. Coordinate activities involving Microsoft Purview and related data discovery, classification, data governance, sensitivity labeling, and compliance capabilities. Track data security findings and coordinate with data owners, application teams, and technical teams to drive remediation to completion. Monitor project progress against agreed timelines and proactively identify delays, blockers, risks, and dependencies. Schedule and facilitate project meetings, working sessions, technical discussions, and status reviews. Prepare meeting agendas, capture decisions, document action items, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely closure. Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports, dashboards, management updates, and executive-level reporting. Maintain RAID logs covering risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decisions. Track project KPIs and metrics such as data source onboarding, classification progress, security findings, remediation status, milestones, and deliverables. Coordinate with technical teams to understand project requirements and translate technical activities into actionable project tasks and timelines. Support governance and steering committee meetings by preparing status updates, risks, decisions, and required escalations. Ensure project documentation, architecture/design documentation, implementation plans, meeting minutes, action trackers, and other project artifacts are maintained and up to date. Follow up with application, data, and business owners on outstanding activities and remediation actions. Identify cross-team dependencies and ensure appropriate stakeholders are engaged at the right stage of the project. Other Requirements
DSPM, data security, and data governance initiatives. Assist in coordinating new DSPM use cases, integrations, process improvements, and expansion of data security capabilities. Ensure clear communication and alignment between technical teams, security leadership, project/program management, and business stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of experience in project coordination, PMO, technology project management, cybersecurity coordination, or a related field. Good working knowledge of Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) concepts. Understanding of data security concepts, including data discovery, data classification, sensitive data identification, data exposure, data access, and data governance. Exposure to Cyera, Microsoft Purview, or similar DSPM/data security/data governance platforms. Understanding of how enterprise data is stored and managed across cloud, databases, data warehouses, data lakes, SaaS applications, and other repositories. Ability to understand technical discussions involving cybersecurity, cloud, data, IAM, applications, and infrastructure. Experience maintaining project plans, schedules, RAID logs, action trackers, dashboards, and status reports. Strong stakeholder coordination, communication, follow-up, and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and teams simultaneously. Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with project/work management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms is preferred. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience coordinating cybersecurity, data security, DSPM, or data governance programs. Hands-on or implementation exposure to Cyera DSPM. Experience with Microsoft Purview. Exposure to Microsoft security technologies such as Microsoft Defender.
