Job Summary

Role Summary

The Nutanix Engineer (E2.3) is responsible for supporting, administering, and maintaining Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environments. The role focuses on day-to-day operations, monitoring, incident resolution, cluster maintenance, virtualization support, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of the Nutanix platform.


Key Responsibilities

Nutanix Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer and monitor Nutanix Prism Central and Prism Element environments.
  • Perform routine health checks and capacity monitoring.
  • Support cluster upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Create and manage storage containers, protection domains, and snapshots.
  • Monitor cluster performance and resolve operational issues.

Virtualization Management

  • Manage virtual machines within Nutanix AHV environments.
  • Perform VM provisioning, cloning, migration, and snapshot operations.
  • Support hypervisor maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist in resource allocation and workload optimization.

Incident & Service Management

  • Handle incidents, service requests, and change activities within SLA targets.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, storage, and virtualization issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and senior engineers for complex problem resolution.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • Support backup and recovery operations.
  • Assist in implementing and validating disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor replication jobs and data protection policies.
  • Participate in DR testing exercises.

Monitoring & Performance Management

  • Monitor infrastructure alerts and proactively address potential issues.
  • Generate operational reports for capacity and performance reviews.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for performance optimization.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain infrastructure documentation and operational procedures.
  • Update knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.
