Job Summary
The SharePoint On-Premises L2 Engineer is responsible for administration, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SharePoint Server environments. The role focuses on ensuring platform availability, incident resolution, service requests, performance monitoring, and supporting business users while adhering to ITIL processes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L2 operational support for SharePoint Server 2013/2016/2019 environments. Monitor SharePoint farm health, services, and server performance. Manage site collections, subsites, web applications, and content databases. Troubleshoot SharePoint access, permissions, search, workflow, and content-related issues. Administer user permissions, SharePoint groups, and Active Directory integration. Support backup, restore, patching, and upgrade activities. Manage SharePoint service applications such as: Search Service Managed Metadata User Profile Service Business Connectivity Services Coordinate with L3 teams for complex incidents and problem management. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues. Handle incidents, service requests, changes, and problem tickets through ITSM tools. Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles. Support migration and content movement activities when required.
Skill Requirements
Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013/2016/2019 Administration. IIS Administration. Windows Server Administration. Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge. PowerShell scripting for SharePoint administration. SQL Server basics (backup, restore, log analysis). SharePoint Search Configuration and Troubleshooting. SharePoint Security and Permission Management. Certificate Management and SSL Configuration.
Other Requirements
Experience with SharePoint migration projects. Exposure to Nintex/Power Automate workflows. Knowledge of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365. Experience in enterprise support environments with SLA-driven operations.
