ITOM Developer – Job DescriptionPosition Summary:Seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Developer with strong expertise in CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Asset Management integration, and platform development. Responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing ITOM solutions while ensuring CMDB data quality, automation, and seamless integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Roles & ResponsibilitiesCMDB & Data ManagementDesign and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB data model.Configure CI classes, class hierarchy, and identification rules.Ensure CMDB health, data quality, and governance.Implement CI normalization and Asset normalization best practices.CI & Asset SynchronizationConfigure and troubleshoot CI-Asset synchronization.Resolve discrepancies between CMDB and HAM Pro.Maintain asset lifecycle and reconciliation processes.Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)Configure Identification Rules and Reconciliation Rules.Troubleshoot duplicate CI creation and data source priority issues.Optimize IRE performance for multiple discovery and integration sources.ServiceNow Platform DevelopmentDevelop Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and Scheduled Jobs.Build Flow Designer and Workflow automation.Debug platform scripts and optimize performance.Security & AdministrationConfigure ACLs, Roles, and OAuth authentication.Implement secure access controls.Support user administration and platform security.Discovery & MID ServerConfigure and maintain MID Servers.Troubleshoot Discovery issues and credential failures.Monitor Discovery schedules and sensor execution.IntegrationsDevelop REST and SOAP API integrations.Troubleshoot inbound and outbound integrations.Configure IntegrationHub and ETL processes.Monitor integration failures and perform root cause analysis.Monitoring & SupportMonitor scheduled jobs and integration health.Perform root cause analysis for CMDB and Discovery issues.Provide production support and incident resolution.Prepare technical documentation and knowledge articles.Preferred Qualifications6+ years of ServiceNow development experience.Strong understanding of ITIL processes.Experience with CMDB Health Dashboard and HAM Workspace.Knowledge of Discovery patterns and troubleshooting.Experience integrating third-party discovery tools (Qualys, SCCM, Tanium, Intune etc.).Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
