Lead Administrator (Tools & Automation)

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

You will be a member of the global RTC team. You will be assigned various tasks, both run-time and one time supporting shared services for customers like Volvo, VCC etc. for technical activities related to your expertise. The function is responsible to operate standard Application Hosting services based on z/OS for IT Services and External business.

 

Purpose:

 

  • Steer execution, coordinate and follow up on Technical Service Maintenance plans for the specific team area.
  • Follow up technical runtime quality and efficiency, status and issues.
  • Communicate and share information and plans.
  • Implement according to lifecycle plans.
  • Drive continuous improvements.

 

 

Scope: All products and tools used to control, tune and report on all LPARs.

Key Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Planning performance and reporting SW system upgrades and changes in configuration
  • Automating operations
  • Running installation jobs and scripts
  • Performing installation-specific customization tasks
  • Integration-testing the new products with existing applications and user procedures
  • Performing maintenance on a z/OS system product
  • Run-time operations- Delivery of end-to-end services  according to Runtime Service Levels
  • Investigating performance problems
  • Perform life cycle management on performance and reporting products
  • ITSM, ITIL process -incident, change, request handling
  • Drive continuous operation improvements
  • Delivery of end-to-end services according to agreed Service Levels for related products in scope
  • Manage day to day quality in operation of the technical service and related products in scope
  • Receive services from  Service Transition (SOE for roll out, PUO)

 

Specific responsibilities:

 

The team is responsible for all deliveries (MF delivery process) in the following area(s):

-Supervision tools

-Performance

-Cost control

-Reporting & Statistics including charging (Common logging)

-Capacity Planning

-Health check and monitors

-Responsible for acting on unwanted performance issues and setup and continuous improvement regarding consumption and fault tolerance.

-Act as available resources for Service Design team regarding new functionality and services. This also includes test and validation.

-Proactive work within ICEP, health checks and monitors.

-Audits

Technical qualifications:

  • Programming: REXX, Assembler, JCL
  • z/OS knowledge, skills, routines
  • Install, maintain and monitor z/OS systems and products for performance enhancements.
  • Review, analyze, and resolve problems.
  • Read, interpret and implement established specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical and business information.
  • Apply problem-solving skills sufficient to independently perform fault isolation and initiate corrective action.
  • Ability to spot unresolved software anomalies and report to the team leader and the appropriate vendor.

Other Requirements

General qualifications:

  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Proactive, responsible and methodical
  • Proficiency in Mainframe systems programming and debugging

  • Ability to work in a structured way with objectives given by a remote team leader
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems.
