Job Summary
Role- Sr Product Manager
Product Manager – Enterprise Data Team
Core Skills
Experience with data platforms (Databricks, cloud data services, streaming) — can follow architecture discussions (medallion layers, Delta Live Tables, batch vs streaming) and engage meaningfully with engineers without writing code
- Familiar with data quality frameworks, observability tooling, metadata management, and security/access control concepts (RBAC, ABAC, service principals)
- Understanding of analytics workflows and semantic layer concepts — how business users consume data through BI tools, metrics definitions, and governed reporting
- Background in regulated industries with privacy and compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, data retention, audit trails)
- Track record managing internal platform roadmaps where customers are engineering teams and business applications
**Communication & Delivery**
- Thinks on paper — uses diagrams and visual artifacts to drive alignment, then translates them into well-structured JIRA tickets that trace back to documented workflows
- Maintains wikis, runbooks, and onboarding materials that reduce tribal knowledge
- Comfortable challenging business requests to arrive at solutions aligned with data team principles (data as a product, business ownership of definitions, self-service over custom builds)
- Strong at roadmap communication — presenting tradeoffs, sequencing, and “why not yet” conversations to leadership
**Stakeholder Partnership**
- Builds trusted relationships with business partners — earns credibility by consistently delivering on commitments
- Can represent the data organization’s priorities and philosophy independently — an extension of leadership, not a go-between
- Drives business ownership of data definitions, catalog contributions, and metadata — treats governance as shared responsibility
- Advocates for the data organization’s approach with business partners, Security, Privacy, Compliance, and AI/ML teams
**Delivery & Operations**
- Comfortable with agile practices (Kanban, sprint planning, capacity management)
- Experience managing vendor or contractor relationships alongside internal teams
- Able to own dashboards tracking platform adoption, data quality, and delivery metrics
**Strategic Fit**
- Familiarity with data mesh and domain-oriented architecture
- Understanding of how data foundations (quality, lineage, cataloging) enable AI/ML readiness
- Experience supporting organizational transformation or scaling data teams.
