Role Purpose
The Business / Data Analyst is responsible for transforming manufacturing data into meaningful business insights by defining, validating, and analyzing Visual Factory KPIs, dashboards, and trends.
This role ensures that data shown in Visual Factory is accurate, consistent, actionable, and trusted by manufacturing operations, quality teams, and leadership.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing KPI Definition & Ownership
- Define, document, and govern manufacturing KPIs used in Visual Factory:
- OEE (Availability, Performance, Quality)
- Downtime, scrap, yield, throughput
- Shift / line / site / enterprise‑level metrics
- Own KPI definitions, formulas, thresholds, and hierarchies (KPI Trees).
- Ensure KPI standardization across plants, lines, and regions.
- Act as the single source of truth for KPI interpretation
2. Data Analysis & Insight Generation
Analyze manufacturing data to:

- Identify performance trends and anomalies
- Detect production losses, bottlenecks, and quality issues
- Translate raw data into actionable insights for operations and management.
- Support root cause analysis using data from Visual Factory dashboards.
- Recommend data‑driven improvements to manufacturing processes.
3. Data Mapping & Validation
- Identify and document data sources (MES, historians, ERP, quality systems).
- Define business rules for data aggregation, rollups, and calculations.
- Validate data accuracy and completeness across source → API → dashboard.
- Work closely with API and QA teams to resolve data mismatches or KPI inaccuracies.
Key Responsibilities
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
3. Lead and participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
4. Create detailed documentation including user stories, process flows, and technical specifications.
5. Work closely with developers and qa teams to ensure successful implementation and testing of solutions.
6. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts and team members.
7. Continuously improve processes and methodologies to enhance productivity and delivery efficiency.
