Job Description – Business AnalystRole: Business AnalystBand: 2.2Location: Alameda (CA), USARate Card: /$97.58/hourEngagement Type: Contract / Time & Material (TP)Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support business transformation and technology initiatives. The candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear requirement gathering, process optimization, and successful delivery of solutions aligned with business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements (functional and non-functional).Translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications for technical teams.Conduct gap analysis, impact analysis, and feasibility studies to support decision-making.Create and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications (FS), and user stories.Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and reviews.Work closely with QA teams to ensure test case alignment with requirements and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing).Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and process walkthroughs.Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.Ensure compliance with organizational standards and governance frameworks.Track and report project progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field.5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst (aligned with Band 2.2).Strong expertise in:Requirement elicitation techniquesProcess modeling (BPMN, flowcharts)Documentation tools (Excel, Word, Confluence, JIRA)Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Strong understanding of SDLC and QA processes.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.Ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.Preferred SkillsExperience in Healthcare / Medical Device domain (preferred for California projects).Knowledge of data analytics tools (Power BI, SQL).Exposure to automation or AI-driven solutions.Certification such as CBAP / CCBA / PMI-PBA / Scrum Certification is a plus.Key CompetenciesAnalytical thinking & problem-solvingStakeholder managementAttention to detailCommunication & documentation clarityAdaptability in a fast-paced environmentDeliverablesHigh-quality requirement documentationProcess maps and workflow diagramsUser stories and acceptance criteriaUAT support documentationStatus reports and executive summariesWork EnvironmentHybrid / Onsite (California-based)Collaboration with cross-functional global teamsSummaryThis role is ideal for an experienced Business Analyst who excels in driving business value through structured analysis, clear communication, and effective collaboration, while supporting enterprise-level transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. To conduct in-depth analysis to understand client needs, challenges, and opportunities, translating them into clear and concise functional specifications.
2. To analyze available options, considering feasibility, cost, and alignment with business requirements and suggest solutions.
3. To participate and facilitate the walkthrough’ to brief the functional specification mapping to business requirements.
4. To prepare and / or aid the preparation of test cases in line with functional requirements
5. Tackle complex business problems and develop innovative solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
