Job Summary

The SAP FICO Consultant is responsible for providing advanced functional support for SAP Finance and Controlling processes, ensuring stability, compliance, and continuous improvement of business-critical financial operations. The consultant will handle complex incidents, service requests, root cause analysis, minor enhancements, and support transition activities. 

The role acts as a key escalation point for finance process issues and works closely with business stakeholders, SAP technical teams, integration teams, and third-party vendors to maintain high service quality and operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities

SAP Finance & Controlling Support

  • Provide L3 support for SAP FI and CO business processes.
  • Resolve complex incidents, problems, and service requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Banking, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and Product Costing processes.
  • Analyze recurring issues and perform root cause analysis to improve system stability.
  • Coordinate with ABAP, Basis, Security, Integration, and Infrastructure teams for issue resolution.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Participate in audit, compliance, and financial control activities.

Change & Enhancement Management

  • Analyze business requirements and prepare functional specifications.
  • Assess impact of changes across integrated SAP modules.
  • Support testing activities including Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Regression Testing.
  • Coordinate implementation and post-production validation of approved changes.
  • Support minor enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Process & Integration Support

  • Troubleshoot integration issues involving MM, SD, WM, Ariba, Treasury, Tax, and external financial systems.
  • Monitor and support interfaces impacting financial processes.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand process gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and Reckitt governance standards.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain functional specifications, process documentation, configuration records, and support knowledge articles.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and known error databases.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and knowledge management initiatives.

  • Strong SAP FICO configuration and support experience.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Asset Accounting (AA)
    • Cost Center Accounting (CCA)
    • Profit Center Accounting (PCA)
    • Internal Orders
    • Product Costing
    • Profitability Analysis (COPA)
    • Financial Close Processes

Technical & Process Knowledge

  • Understanding of integration with MM, SD, WM/EWM, Treasury, and Procurement solutions.
  • Knowledge of SAP authorization concepts and financial controls.
  • Experience with incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Professional Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with business, technical, and vendor teams.
  • Excellent documentation and knowledge management discipline.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ownership mindset.

Other Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Typically 7-10 years of SAP FICO experience in implementation and production support environments.
  • Experience supporting global SAP landscapes in a managed services environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in incident, problem, and change management.
  • SAP FI/CO certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting FMCG or global consumer goods organizations is advantageous.
