Microsoft Power Apps Senior Technical Lead

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Power Apps Developer with strong expertise in Model-Driven Apps and Microsoft Dataverse to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications that enhance operational efficiency and data integrity. 

The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, solution architects, and IT teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, robust solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem. 

Key Responsibilities

Application Development 

  • Design, develop, and deploy Model-Driven Apps using Power Apps that align with business processes and UX best practices. 
  • Build and customize Dataverse tables, columns, relationships, views, forms, and business rules. 
  • Implement complex business logic using server-side plugins, custom connectors, and Power Automate cloud flows. 
  • Develop and maintain PCF (Power Apps Component Framework) controls to extend out-of-the-box capabilities. 

Data Architecture & Integration 

  • Architect and manage Dataverse data models, ensuring referential integrity, security roles, and performance. 
  • Integrate Dataverse with external systems (ERP, CRM, third-party APIs) using Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, or custom APIs. 
  • Design and maintain Dataverse solutions for packaging and deployment across environments (Dev / Test / UAT / Production). 

Security & Governance 

  • Configure and maintain Dataverse security roles, field-level security, business units, and team-based access controls. 
  • Enforce data governance standards, including auditing, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and compliance requirements. 

Collaboration & Delivery 

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) and deliver against sprint commitments. 
  • Produce technical documentation, solution design documents, and user guides. 
  • Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to uphold quality standards. 

Skill Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing Model-Driven Apps with Microsoft Power Apps. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Dataverse: data modelling, business rules, calculated columns, rollup fields. 
  • Solid experience with Power Automate (cloud flows, business process flows, approval workflows). 
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for client-side scripting within Model-Driven Apps. 
  • Experience with C# and .NET for developing Dataverse server-side plugins and custom workflow activities. 
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and OData for Dataverse Web API integrations. 
  • Working knowledge of XML Jason and LINQ for advanced data querying. 

Other Requirements

Tools & Platforms 

  • Microsoft Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and ALM practices. 
  • Power Platform CLI and Solution Packager for environment management. 
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Service Bus, or Key Vault is advantageous. 
  • Certifications (Preferred) 
  • PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer 

Nice to Have 

  • Knowledge of Canvas Apps and Power BI for full Power Platform breadth. 
  • Exposure to Azure API Management, Azure AD B2C, or Microsoft Entra ID. 
  • Familiarity with Copilot Studio (formerly Power Virtual Agents) for chatbot integration. 
  • Background in agile delivery frameworks (Scrum / SAFe).
