Job Summary

Data Visualization Expertise:

  1. Selecting appropriate visual elements (bar charts, line graphs, maps, etc.) based on data type and business context.
  2. Mastering Power BI's visual customization options to create clear and engaging dashboards.
  3. Understanding color theory and visual hierarchy to guide user focus.

Data Modeling and DAX:

  1. Proficiency in Power BI's data modeling features to structure and transform data effectively.
  2. Knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create calculated columns and measures for complex data analysis.

SQL Skills:

  1. Ability to write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases for Power BI analysis
  2. Power BI Features:
  3. Deep understanding of Power BI functionalities like Power Query, Power Pivot, and Report Builder.
  4. Familiarity with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

Business Acumen:

  1. Ability to translate complex business requirements into visual dashboards that effectively communicate key insights.
  2. Understanding business metrics and KPIs relevant to different industries.

Design Skills:

  1. Strong aesthetic sense to create visually appealing and intuitive dashboards.
  2. Knowledge of design principles like layout, typography, and color schemes.

Communication and Collaboration:

  1. Effective communication to collaborate with stakeholders and gather requirements.
  2. Ability to present data insights clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.

Additional valuable skills:

  1. Data Analytics: Basic understanding of statistical concepts to interpret data accurately.
  2. Data Storytelling: Ability to narrate a compelling story through data visualization.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
