Job Summary

Job Description
In this role, you’ll:

•    Manages the development and/or operation of significant aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues.
•    Liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs, convert these into technical requirements, and then create, develop and deliver solutions whilst collaborating with cross functional teams including data engineers, analysts and data scientists.
•    Prepare structured data sets for dashboards or analytical use.
•    Create optimised data models following sustainable practices.
•    Confidently query large datasets (e.g. using SQL) and select appropriate tools (e.g. Looker / Power BI) and methodologies to address specific business problems.

About You:
We're keen to speak to candidates with experience who have strong skills in:

1.    Business Intelligence & Visualisation: Can write queries and view data via BigQuery, LBG’s strategic cloud analytics platform, and have considerable experience with Looker and/or Power BI.

2.    Uses experience to analyse both structured and unstructured data and infuse the analytics outcomes into driving business decisions.

3.    Data Analysis: Can plan and execute end to end analysis; can select appropriate methods; can quantify uncertainty and can clearly articulate assumptions and limits.

4.    AI Literacy: Can independently use AI tools to enhance productivity, can critically evaluate AI outputs, and understands ethical implications. Can apply AI literacy in varied contexts.

5.    Data Visualisation: Chooses effective visualisations for varied audiences; designs reusable, well labelled visuals; integrates with narratives. Designs multi page dashboards with clear information hierarchy; applies accessibility (colour contrast, alt text).

6.    Data Storytelling: Understand the principles of turning data insights into a compelling narrative. Combining data visualisation with narrative techniques to convey insights and information in an engaging way.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain powerbi reports and dashboards to visualize data effectively.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
3. Optimize sql queries and database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval.
4. Design and implement etl processes to extract, transform, and load data into the powerbi environment.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to powerbi and sql.
6. Stay updated on latest trends and best practices in powerbi and sql to enhance data analytics capabilities.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in microsoft powerbi to design and develop interactive visualizations.
2. Strong command of sql for querying and managing relational databases.
3. Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
4. Ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
5. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams.
6. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
7. Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks effectively.
